HELP AT A BLOOD DRIVE

 

Become a Greeter or Canteen Host at Blood Drives or at Donation Centers in the Twin Cities. Contact Ken at kfaber@redcrosstc.org or (612) 872-3271. (Already a chapter volunteer? Here's a list of current opportunities!)

 

 

TEACH A CLASS

 

The Red Cross provides important training in all aspects of LIFESAVING and community safety. If you don't have the necessary training, but you'd like to teach, we'll train you, in some cases for free.

 

 

JOIN OUR MULTICULTURAL OUTREACH PROGRAM!

 

The Twin Cities area is lucky to be the home of many diverse communities.  Help us to reach out and share our message of preparedness!  Click here to learn how to become a volunteer in our Multicultural Outreach Program.

 

HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS

 

When you volunteer with our Disaster Action Team, you provide emergency services including food, clothing, shelter, medical and emotional support to people following an emergency.

  • For an on-line introduction, click here. 
  • Attend a special Disaster Orientation: "Fulfilling Our Mission: Translating Your Compassion into Community Action." Register for a session at disastertraining@redcrosstc.org.

 

As an Emergency Medical Services Team member, you'll help provide on-site emergency medical services at public events like concerts, sporting events and the State Fair.

Twin Cities Companies Support Volunteering

Did you know:

  • 78% of General Mills employees volunteer?
  • Or that Best Buy donates $1000 to charity for every 40 hours an employee volunteers?
  • And that 3M makes a $200 grant on behalf of employees who volunteer over 25 hours a year?

Twin Cities companies like Ameriprise, UBS, GMAC-ResCap, IBM and Cenveo encourage workplace giving and have payroll check-off options for its employees to donate to the Twin Cities Red Cross.

 

Companies can create a further connection to its workers by:

  • Matching their volunteer hours with an additional financial contribution.
  • Creating a team of trained "Volunteer Reserves" among its workforce who are dispatched by the Red Cross to large-scale disasters across the United States.
  • Sharing Red Cross Volunteer Opportunities through its company web site, literature and bulletin boards.
