Nurse Assistant Training

As a nurse assistant, you’ll be an important part of today’s world of health care, working with other health care professionals to provide care that improves and saves lives. With the growing health care job market, your skills will always be in demand.

Topics include: Helping people stay independent; Taking blood pressure and respiration; Understanding and helping patients in pain; Understanding human development; Being sensitive to patients; Improving communication skills; Understanding medical terms.

This course includes lab exercises and clinical experience in a long-term healthcare facility and meets the requirements of the Minnesota Department of Health and OBRA. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to take the NA State competency examination.

Prerequisites

1. Must be at least 17 years old as of the first day of class.
2. English Comprehension Pretest or College Transcripts from United States.
3. Must have a Mantoux/TB done by the first day of class or within 90 days of clinical.
4. $400.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit with registration. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Length

State Minimum 75 class hours. May be as much as 100 hours depending on class chosen.
*** If you plan to work in another state you will need to verify the rules and regulations of that state for training and testing***

Course Fee

$800 Includes: Tuition, Textbook, Workbook, Background check.

*Payment in full is due on the first day of class. Background check will be completed first day of class.

***Financial Assistance is not available through the Red Cross.***

**The State Test is not included in tuition costs. You may register with any Technical College that offers nursing assistant courses and State Exams.**

*CPR or First Aid is not included and is not required for class participation. The CPR recommended to take if you are planning on going into the medical field is the CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. See our website or call for upcoming CPR and First Aid classes.*
