EMS at Events

Our trained Red Cross EMS team members are part of an advanced life support team providing first aid at events such as the Minnesota State Fair, The Twin Cities Marathon, Taste of Minnesota, Minnesota WILD hockey games, other sporting events, concerts and other community events.

Want to become an EMS volunteer? 

Whether you are an experienced EMS professional, or a recently certified first responder, the Twin Cities Red Cross has a rewarding volunteer opportunity to help you train and grow professionally.

 

Red Cross EMS volunteers have been saving lives for more than 25 years in the Twin Cities.  In 1998, training was standardized and the Red Cross adopted Regions EMS guidelines. The high standards and training of the Red Cross EMS Team has created an increasing demand for our services at events throughout the Twin Cities. We are looking for individuals with the following certifications to join our team:

 

  • First Responders
  • Emergency Medical Technicians
  • Paramedics
  • Licensed Practicing Nurses
  • Registered Nurses

 

Benefits of Being an EMS Team Volunteer

Red Cross volunteers commit to shifts ranging from 3 to 5 hours a month, 2 to 4 times a month. Events are held throughout the Twin Cities area on weekdays, weekends, and evenings. EMS team members receive:

 

  • Free Continuing Education
  • Free CPR Re-certification
  • Additional ALS Training
  • Networking opportunities with EMS professionals
  • Practical skills experience
