Minneapolis/St. Paul (December 22, 2008) - Monday night dozens of volunteers and staff from the Twin Cities Area Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a 4-alarm fire at the 64-unit Burncliff apartment building. The building, which is located at 12312 Parkwood Drive in Burnsville, was destroyed.
None of the residents from the affected building, in addition to the neighboring 64-unit apartment building, were allowed to return to their homes on Monday night. The Twin Cities Red Cross has set up a shelter at Burnsville High School and is expecting up to 80 people to spend the night.
Red Cross volunteers have assisted Burncliff residents with food, shelter, medical and mental health needs in addition to other forms of emergency assistance.
