Minneapolis/St. Paul (June 17, 2007) – This morning the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Red Cross deployed another volunteer to Madison, Wisconsin Iowa for flooding disaster relief. This brings the number of volunteers the Twin Cities Red Cross has deployed to Midwest disaster relief operations to twelve. Three volunteers are in Indiana, four are in Iowa and five are in Wisconsin. The volunteers will be deployed for a period of 10 days to 3 weeks.
The Twin Cities Area Red Cross has deployed volunteers who specialize in the following areas:

Additionally, the Red Cross Safe and Well website (www.safeandwell.org) is in operation to assist residents affected by flooding. The Safe and Well Website enables people within a disaster area to let their families and friends outside of the affected region know that they are “safe and well.” Loved ones who are concerned about family members in an affected area can search the website to view these messages.
